“ We are committed to working together to provide an enabling environment in which each child has the opportunity to become a happy, confident and independent learner, who will achieve their full potential

About Us

We plan to continue raising the bar of future childcare provision by challenging complacency and pioneering a forward thinking approach today and every day. One way we will achieve this is to continue making significant investment in our staff by supporting their training and ongoing professional development.

This is because Castle’s success to date can be attributed to the dedication of our staff and their leadership. How this manifests day-to-day is in the excellent relationships that our staff members have with the children and their parents.

Our Ethos

All of our nurseries and pre-schools are bound together by the Castle ethos to provide exceptional standards of care and education, and yet each nursery has freedom to develop its own individual and unique character. Therefore each nursery has an independent, community feel whilst benefitting from being part of a larger, highly regarded and regionally acclaimed nursery group.

The group is steeped in the tradition of focusing on the holistic development of each individual child, and draws on the best nursery practice and the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage.

All of our Castle nurseries offer a variety of fun activities both inside and outside, utilising toys, arts and crafts, games, equipment and materials which develop the children physically, educationally and emotionally.

All of our Castle nurseries are registered as Forest Schools. A Forest School is an innovative educational approach to outdoor play and learning within a woodland environment. It gives the children freedom of exploration and they learn to become independent and responsible for themselves, peers and the environment.

Our nursery is committed to ensuring that our teaching, learning and caring environment promotes and upholds ‘British Values’ which involves valuing and being aware of the multicultural society we live in.

We do this by encouraging:

  • Children to learn right from wrong
  • Encouraging turning taking and sharing
  • Encouraging inclusion
  • Challenging (and encouraging children to challenge) negative attitudes and stereotypes
  • Demonstrating (and encouraging children to demonstrate) mutual respect to one another and tolerance to those with different faith and beliefs.

“Your child’s education and future start with us… It is important to us that you and your child are both happy throughout your time with Castle Nursery & Pre-School
