South Hill Nursery, Guildford

Our South Hill Nursery opened in 1955, its setting can be found nestled in the heart of Guildford town, its location is perfect for parents living and working in Guildford town centre.
The South Hill Nursery is a Victorian building which dates back to 1858, formally the first Primary School in Guildford. This historic locally listed building has been carefully and beautifully converted to meet the needs of the children, whilst retaining its character features.
South Hill is a 43 place setting and has three fully equipped rooms: 0-2’s room, 2-3’s room and a Preschool for the 3-5’s. We also have a separate cot room and two gardens, one for the under two’s and a larger garden for the over two’s which has an outdoor classroom in.

Our Management Team

Emma Holland, Manager

Emma is an experienced early years advanced practitioner with additional qualifications in safeguarding and special educational needs. Before joining us she was a childcare assessor, mentoring and coaching nursery apprentices in the early years foundation stage (EYFS) statutory framework. Emma has also worked at a senior level with 2-4 year olds in several nurseries as a practitioner and manager.

From her own experiences as a parent and volunteer helper, she has developed her passion for early years care, helping the next generations of children reach their potential. She is also devoted to instilling this enthusiasm in her team and providing the tools and support to create a happy and positive nursery experience for all.

Michelle Smith – Regional Manager

Michelle is a highly experienced professional in our family of nurseries having managed teams at several locations since 1995 before moving to supporting a larger number of nurseries with her valuable expertise. She has a degree and a masters degree in early years education.

With children of her own, her love of early years and parenting drives Michelle’s commitment to deliver a high quality childcare experience within our nurseries, both as an overwatch to ensure best practice within the nursery, and to provide support and training for managers and their teams to maximise their opportunities for creative education.

Natalie Chrystie, Operations Manager

As the Operations Manager for Childcare And Learning Group, Natalie has responsibility for supporting and developing the nurseries and pre-schools within the group.

Natalie is a qualified childcare specialist with over 40 years experience working in the childcare industry including many years running individual nurseries for the group. Leading a senior team of three regional managers and a special projects manager, she ensures that nurseries have the facilities, support and training required to meet the group’s own high standards for best practice in childcare.
